The structure consists of VIRTUS antenna, a transceiver, the filtering and amplification, as well as processor units nonlinear analog signal processing, parallel processing and digital decoding.
Scientists from the University of Technology Hanyanskogo and the Institute of Infocomm Research (both - Singapore) have developed a microchip that provides thousands of times faster wireless data transfer over Bluetooth-coupled device (standard 2.0). The product is called VIRTUS uses millimeter-wave range for the bulk delivery of data packets at low power consumption. The capacity of the communication channel up to 2 Gbit / s.
The designers have emphasized that they first managed to get an integrated three-chip, clocked at 60 GHz with low power consumption. The product has already granted 16 international patents.
It is assumed that the chip VIRTUS will find wide application: The technology can be utilized for high-speed wireless data transfer between mobile devices (smartphones, tablets), computers, systems, streaming video, multiplayer gaming platforms, and so on.
